5.0Credit(s) Lecture5 Lab0 Basic Surgical Principles builds upon the concepts of introductory surgical technology principles. Emphasis is placed on perioperative events (PACU, discharge planning, emergency situations, organ transplant and procurement). Students learn the basic knowledge of biomedical science, informational technology, interventional radiology, minimally invasive surgery, and explore all-hazards preparation procedures. Prerequisite(s):BIO 186 - Microbiology, SUR 134 - Introduction to Surgical Technology and Anesthesia, and SUR 141 - Introduction to Basic Surgical Principles.
