Students focus on maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency of the sterile and non-sterile fields throughout various surgical procedures. Emphasis is placed on the skills of preparing, assisting with, and dismantling basic surgical cases in the surgical technologist role. Prerequisite(s):BIO 186 - Microbiology, SUR 134 - Introduction to Surgical Technology and Anesthesia, and SUR 141 - Introduction to Basic Surgical Principles.
