Advanced Welding: TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas)

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs by Department

TIG welding is a precision, high-quality welding technique that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode. The term “TIG” (tungsten inert gas) references the non-reactive gas (usually argon) employed to protect the weld area from atmospheric contamination. TIG welding is valued for its clean finish, strength, and ability to join a wide range of metals.
