4.0Credit(s) Lecture3.50 Lab1 Nursing Care of the Growing Family builds on the concepts of previous nursing courses with an emphasis on nursing care with men’s and women’s health during the reproductive years, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn periods. The course focuses on health promotion, disease prevention and common alterations in health. Students discuss care of the well and hospitalized child and family. Course experiences include simulation and work in a community based setting. Prerequisite(s): A grade of “C” or higher in PNN 228 - Foundations of Nursing I, PNN 290 - Health Assessment Across the Lifespan, and PNN 721 - Foundations of Nursing Clinical I.
